Life in the 100 Aker Wood
Well we are definitely getting closer to B-day, with about nine weeks to go. Part of me wishes that the days will go by fast because I'm starting to get rather uncomfortable, but the other part of me wants to enjoy days without dirty diapers and the sound of a crying baby.
This weekend James and I worked on the nursery and I am pleased it is nearly complete. We finished touching up the mural. James also put the crib and changing table together. Tonight he is working on putting together some shelves we bought to store all of the baby's books....storing them under the futon in the living room didn't seem like the ideal location.
Here are some pictures of the nursery:
James looked pretty exhausted after painting and then putting all the furniture together.
James' Dad put the finishing touches on the Hunny Tree last weekend. James added some cool bees.
This is James' favorite part of the mural that he painted. Kanga with Roo, how cute!
He also painted Owl perched on top of the closet door. I was so impressed by this!
Over the window, James and his dad painted hunny pots.
I was amazed by all the little details that went into the mural. James and his dad painted two full days to make the baby's room look wonderful. I don't know how they did it. James was tired of trying to paint the stripes on Tigger, so I decided to help. I found out just how difficult it was to paint at that odd angle. After only about an hour, my arms were really sore. I have no idea how James and Jim painted all day!

So now it is finished, and I am sure that the baby will have plenty of things to look at around the room. My contribution was very small, but it really helped me appreciate all the hard work James and his dad put into the mural. I think the whole thing turned out great. I'm afraid now that I won't be able to move out of this house....even if there is only one bathroom!
